Developed from 26 years of Alpinestars airbag expertise, the Tech-Air®MX with Downhill Algorithm brings autonomous airbag technology specifically tuned for downhill mountain biking. Developed using professional athlete data collected since 2022, the dedicated algorithm is engineered around the unique dynamics of downhill riding, from high-speed descents and technical terrain to jumps, drops, rapidly changing surfaces, loss of rider control, and terrain-induced instability.

Downhill Riding Mode: Dedicated MTB Downhill Algorithm downloadable through the Tech-Air® App and specifically developed to recognize downhill-specific riding and crash dynamics.
Multiple Riding Modes: MX, MX RACE, ENDURO, and RALLY profiles complement the dedicated Downhill Mode for multi-discipline versatility.
Automatic Activation: Connecting the left buckle activates the system through an integrated magnetic switch; disconnecting it switches the system off.
Tech-Air® App Connectivity: Bluetooth interface for Riding Mode management, system status, diagnostics, and firmware updates.
Long Battery Life: Up to 30 hours of riding on a full charge, with approximately 8 hours of use available from a 1-hour charge.
Fully Autonomous Operation: Self-contained functionality with no external sensors or GPS required.

Airbag deploys in approximately 32–45 milliseconds following crash detection, depending on system size.
Extensive deployed coverage across the shoulders, chest, back, and upper arms.
Provides up to an 82% reduction in transmitted impact energy compared with conventional passive chest protectors.
Airbag protection extends to the shoulders and upper arms only when deployed, preserving unrestricted movement during normal riding.
CE-certified Airbag Category II protection compliant with EN 1621-4:2013.
Integrated CE Level 1 passive protection remains available after airbag deflation.
System certified for up to six deployments before servicing is required, provided the airbag remains undamaged.

In the event of a return or service request you must therefore deliver the goods in person to one of our Tech-Air® Hubs.
